Besides being a tournament played in Central Park, one of the most unique features that sets the Northern Roots Charity Pond Hockey Tournament apart from all others, is that we guarantee former NHL players on every registered team. Players get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play alongside former NHL players, and mingle socially, all while raising awareness and supporting a very important cause.

Proceeds raised from the Pond Hockey Charity Event go directly towards the iRise Above Foundation's mission goal of surrounding young women with targeted, age-appropriate, and connected health and wellness resources to enable them to rise above the residual effects of breast cancer, complete a life-changing mind-body-spirit expedition, and enjoy long-term survival.
With each Northern Roots Pond Hockey Tournament, the iRise Above Foundation establishes a quantifiable target fundraising goal to support their mission. The more funds raised, the more young women who benefit from the offerings provided through the iRise Above program.
